Welcome to Part 2 of my 7-Day VR Challenge. I am completely packing away my monitors to live, fly, and adapt to high-end virtual reality in MSFS 2024 using the Pimax Crystal Light. No marketing fluff—just the raw reality of making the ultimate hardware transition.
In this second, we break down the reality of being "trapped behind a wall of plastic" without access to an iPad or physical notes. I'll share the simple, low-tech hardware life hack that saved my muscle memory, and walk you through the ultimate technical restructuring to end your dependency on a mouse and keyboard. We put two major voice automation utilities to the test: VoiceAttack vs. the AI-driven SimVoice Copilot, and discuss your options for spatial navigation, from OpenKneeboard and FSKneeboard to a completely free, open-source Little Navmap VR panel setup. Finally, we take it all into the skies above Utah to see how these tools handle heavy CPU loads and crisp chart rendering under actual flight conditions.
