Moza Flight AB6 setup guide & unbiased MSFS 2024 Review
For years, experiencing true mechanical Force Feedback (FFB) in flight simulation meant either spending a fortune on high-end commercial gear or spending dozens of hours building a complex DIY rig. The brand-new Moza Flight AB6 bundle completely changes the landscape. Combining a full-metal, 6 Newton-meter peak torque dual-servo base with a carbon-fiber-reinforced flight stick, this system aims to bring genuine haptic control loading down to an accessible consumer price tier.
In this deep-dive hardware review, we bypass the marketing scripts to give you an honest, peer-to-peer assessment of what it is actually like to unbox, configure, and fly with the Moza AB6 system. We walk through the heavy-duty assembly, look at why the base needs to be clamped to your desk to counter the active motor forces, and detail structural workarounds for the current bugs inside the Moza Cockpit utility—including interface freezing during USB port scans and firmware updates. Crucially, we look at why you cannot skip manual axis calibration, walking step-by-step through configuring your Z-axis (yaw twist) and analog hat switches to avoid severe control errors in-sim.
Finally, we load into Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 to push the telemetry-driven outrunner motors to their limits:
- General Aviation (Cessna 172 Skyhawk): Testing real-time engine vibrations, subtle ground-roll rumbles, and structural aerodynamic buffeting when deploying flaps using the Integrated FFB profile.
- Military Jet (Boeing F/A-18E Super Hornet): Pushing low-altitude mountain passes and high-G banks to evaluate dynamic stick centering and speed-dependent control stiffness.
- Air Race (Red Bull Extra 330): High-speed aerodynamic slicing to test low-deflection control authority and physical mechanical pushback.
Because the Moza AB6 does not ship with built-in default mapping profiles for MSFS 2024, I have exported my custom, flight-tested General Aviation XML control profiles directly to my repository below to save you hours of manual trial-and-error.
